The Redmi Note 3: First Phone With Fingerprint Scanner From Xiaomi
Xiaomi, the Chinese electronics company gained popularity around the world with it’s budget friendly smartphones delivering great performance. Especially in India, the company was able to attract the masses with it’s devices.
Today, this 4th largest smartphone maker in the world, has launched Redmi Note 3, as a successor it it’s previous Redmi Note 2. This device comes with a fingerprint scanner at back. Clearly the company is always trying to include all latest features in it’s variants. So, Redmi Note 3 would be the first Xiaomi device to include a fingerprint scanner and looks promising with it’s specs and features.
Design and Dimensions
Redmi Note 3 comes with a full metal uni body design unlike it’s other variants with curved edges. The design looks nice and feels premium too. It has a 5.5 inch phablet featuring full HD display with 1920 x 1080 display resolution. Redmi Note 3 is 8.6mm thick and weighs approximately 165 grams in hand. On the back, this device features a fingerprint sensor right below the camera like new nexus and Honor 7.
Clearly design wise this phone looks good. Metallic body would definitely make this device more attractive. Usually as of now all other Xiaomi variants are made out of plastic like material and feel really light in hand compared to their rivals. Even though this device features metal all over, it still weighs only 164 grams in hand (jsut 4grams heavier than Note 2), no too much. And it’s only 8.6mm thick. Xiaomi also known for it’s brighter screens. This device also features 5.5 inch screen with HD resolution. One can expect that this would clearly be brighter with appropriate color production and nice viewing angles.
Coming to the fingerprint sensor on the back, the company had chosen the same spot which other mobile manufacturers are preferring right now. While holding with your hand you gotta be careful while using it because you may accidentally unlock it sometimes even though you didn’t want to. The company claims that this sensor works fast and wakes up your device in 0.3 seconds.

Camera Unit
Redmi Note 3 features 13MP PDAF camera on the back with LED flash and 5MP sensor at front.
Again, Xiaomi always known for delivering nice camera performance. In Xiaomi devices, you would find photos to be sharp and clear. So, this camera also won’t disappoint you. You can shoot HD videos also using this camera.
Battery Life and Others
Redmi Note 3 features a huge 4000mAh battery. Coming to connectivity, this device is a dual SIM device and supports 4G LTE, Wifi ac, GPS and Bluetooth.
