Both device Galaxy J5 and J7 are made up of same material and look like shiny plastic with faux- metal side bezels. Not that great design and both devices are slippery in the hand, if you don’t hold them appropriately.
Coming to size and dimensions, J5 has 5 inch 720p Super AMOLED display and has 71.8×142.1×7.9 mm dimensions and weighs 146 grams in hand. J7 has 5.5 inch 720p Super AMOLED display with 78.6×152.4×7.5 mm dimensions and weighs 171 g in hand.
Clearly Samsung J7 has bigger display but thinner than J5 and weighs more in hand. That would justify it’s high price than Galaxy J5.

Samsung Galaxy J5 has 1.2 GHz Qualcomm MSM8916, Quad Core Processor with Adreno 306 GPU with 1.5GB RAM and 8GB of storage and Galaxy J7 comes with 1.5 GHz Exynos 7580, Octa Core processor and has Mali-T720 MP2 GPU with 1.5 GB of RAM and 16 GB or storage. Both devices run Android Lollipop V5.1 and storage can be expandable up to 128 GB using Micro SD Card slot.
Clearly, Galaxy J7 has more processing power then Galaxy J5 because of its price and performs faster while comparing both. However if you are looking for low price device, then J5 also performs pretty well, without any lag and gives you nice Android Experience.

Both devices have same specifications on camera department. Both devices come with 13MP sensor with f/1.9 aperture with LED flash and 5MP sensor with flash on front. Samsung Galaxy J7 has 3000 mAh battery and Galaxy J5 has 2600 mAh battery. Both devices handle upto 18 hours of talk time and both batteries are removable.
Even though Galaxy J7 has bigger battery then J5 because of it’s highest processor and bigger screen, J5 would also give some decent battery life time depending on it’s lower price.
Connectivity and Other features
Both devices have dual Micro SIM card sorts and support dual stand by. Both devices support 4G to get some faster data speeds. These two guys have Accelerometer, Hall Sensor, Proximity Sensor embedded on them and come up with 100GB of Free cloud storage. One minute drawback is both devices do not support ac wifi. Both devices are available in three colors: gold, white and black.
