The Chinese electronic manufacturing company Oppo announced another smart phone device into the marked named –F1. This variant is the first device in their F series. From the listed specifications, this device is said to have 8 MP front camera delivering good quality selfie shots. Oppo F1 has gone official in Vietnam and expected to launch in India at the end of this month.

Let’s take a look at this device and it’s specifications.

Oppo F1 appears to have a shiny premium metallic unibody design with curved edges. This device is available in Golden color to give you bright look. Coming to display, Oppo F1 has 5 inch 720p HD display with 2.5D Gorilla Glass 4 protection. 720p is low resolution compared to 1080p though, but on a 5 inch screen, you wouldn’t be able to tell the difference more often unless you observe closely. This display would give you appropriate amount of clarity, brightness, vivid color production with nice viewing angles. Overall, Oppo F1 display fits in the appropriate category neither being huge nor being less. The gorilla glass protection would help preventing external physical damage as well. If you measure it’s body, it will be 143.5 x 71 x 7.25mm and weight would be 134 grams. So, this device is only 7.25 mm thin and very much lighter weighing only 134 grams. That means this device is so carefully designed even though it has 2500 mAh battery and metallic body. Thumbs up for that.

Under the hood, Oppo F1 features 1.5 GHz 64-bit Octa Core Qualcomm Snapdragon 616 Soc Coupled with Adreno 405 GPU. Having Oppos Customized skin Color OS 2.1 on top of Android Lollipop v5.1, this device has 3 GB RAM and 16 GB internal storage which can be expandable up to 128 GB using Micro SD (the slot is hybrid though). If you look at it’s core specs, this device looks great on paper and would give you better performance without any hitches. Since it has octa-core CPU this device can handle high end games, multi tasking very well. You can also load bunch of apps on this device without hesitation, thanks to 3GB RAM. Coming to internal storage, whenever you run out of storage, you can always use a SD card, ofcourse, sacrificing a SIM card.

Coming to the camera department, Oppo F1 has 13 MP (LED flash, f/2.2, 1080p video) on the back and 8 MP (f/2.0, 1/4″ sensor) front facing camera which also includes software features such as Beautify 3.0, 8 live color filters. The new thing that Oppo has come up with this front camera is an option that let’s you use your screen as a flash under low light conditions. It is very intriguing and I am excited to see how it would look like. Anyway, the front facing camera is an asset on this device. So if you are a selfie junkie then you are going to like it. The primary camera is good too, gives you nice shots and lets you record 1080p HD videos.

Oppo F1 has 2500 mAh battery. You can expect nice performance and good backup time on this battery, even though it depends some times since it has to handle an octa-core CPU. Coming to connectivity, this device is 4G enabled device, supporting other basic features such as Bluetooth 4.1, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n and GPS. As I mentioned earlier, this device has two SIM slots and you can use both of them unless you run out of 16 GB internal storage.
The OPPO F1 announced in Vietnam for 6,490,000 Vietnamese Dongs (which is approximately equal to US$ 290 i.e., ₹19,365/- ) If this is the price for which the company announces it in India, then you may want to think twice because there are plenty of other rivals offering similar specs for comparatively lesser price. But it has great front facing camera, which you wouldn’t find in many.
