Google Pixel 3 vs Apple iPhone XS: Which is Better and Why
Although Apple launched iPhone XS a few weeks back, Google had launched the Pixel 3 just last week. Both of the devices are really awesome, and they have been liked by millions of people from across the globe. Dimension/Weight/Body
To get started, you should know that Pixel 3 has a dimension of 5.73 x 2.69 x 0.31 inch and it weighs 148gm only. On the other hand, iPhone XS is quite bigger than the competitor. The iPhone XS has Dolby Vision or HDR 10 support, wide color gamut display, 3D touch display, true-tone display and 120 Hz touch sensing. The main difference is you will get a notch on iPhone XS, but the Pixel 3 doesn’t have such a thing.
Chipset/Memory/Storage
This is where you will get confused since both of them have different chipset, but they are capable of doing tasks similarly. Being said that, you will get 10nm Octa-core Snapdragon 845 chipset on Pixel 3, but iPhone XS has 7nm hexa-core Apple A12 Bionic chipset. Obviously, the battery consumption of iPhone XS would be better. Regarding graphics, you will get Adreno 630 on Pixel 3, but iPhone XS has Apple GPU.
Nowadays, manufacturers have started providing a lot of RAM and storage, and these two mobiles are not different from them. The Pixel 3 has 4GB RAM along with either 64GB or 128GB of storage. On the flip side, the iPhone XS has 4GB RAM, but you will get 64GB or 256GB or 512GB of storage. Therefore, if you need to store a lot of HD videos and documents, you can opt for the Apple device. Talking about the storage, none of them has external card slot.
Camera
Camera is always an important aspect of any mobile, especially when you are investing so much money on mobile. You will get a f/1.8 12.2 MP camera on Pixel 3, which offers dual-LED flash, auto-HDR, and panorama. On the other hand, iPhone XS has a dual camera setup. Being said that, you will get a f/1.8 12MP camera and another f/2.4 12MP camera. The first one is a wide angle lens and the second one is a telephoto lens. Both of the mobiles have Optical Image Stabilization, PDAF and so on. If you want to record videos, you should know the Pixel 3 cannot record 4K video at more than 30FPS. On the other hand, the iPhone XS is capable of recording 4K video at up to 60FPS. Another difference is you can record 1080p video at 240FPS on iPhone XS, but you need to downgrade the video quality to 720p if you want to record 240FPS video on Pixel 3.
All these are for the rear camera. If you are wondering about the front facing camera, you should know that the Pixel 3 is quite better than the iPhone XS since it has dual camera including a f/1.8 8MP wide-angle lens and f/2.2 8MP ultrawide angle lens. On the flip side, you will get a f/2.2 7MP camera on iPhone XS. Another difference is you can record 1080p video at 60FPS on iPhone XS, but you need to record 1080p video at 30FPS on Pixel 3.
Battery
Pixel 3 and iPhone XS have non-removable battery. However, the numbers are different on the paper. You will get Li-Ion 2915 mAh battery on Pixel 3 and Li-Ion 2658 mAh battery on iPhone XS.
Other Features
Pixel 3 has a fast charging option, but you won’t get that on iPhone XS. Apart from that, you will get Titan C chip on Pixel 3, which is very important for security. Regarding color combination, you can find Pixel 3 is three different colors including Clearly White, Just Black and Not Pink. On the other hand, the iPhone XS also has three different color combinations including Space Gray, Silver, and Gold.
Price
Google Pixel 3 starts from $799. On the other hand, the 64GB version of iPhone XS costs $999; the 256GB variant costs $1149 and the 512GB variant costs around $1349 in the US.
If you like Android, and you want to purchase a premium phone, the Pixel 3 sounds pretty good. However, if you want to purchase an iPhone but you have a tight budget, you can opt for iPhone XS. Between these two devices, the Pixel 3 seems reasonable.
